During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Migrant Trail Organizing Committee opted, in the interest of the safety of our communities, not to hold an in-person Migrant Trail Walk. During this time, we honored our promise to continue to bear witness to the deaths on the U.S. – Mexico border with virtual experiences. Registration fees for these experiences were donated to local border justice organizations who were suffering from the effects of the lockdowns. The virtual experiences were incredibly rich and powerful, and we were incredibly moved by the community that continued to show up for border justice.
