The Gloo Factory, an amazing local union printing shop that provides us with our swag, has a unique relationship with a women’s sewing cooperative in Agua Prieta, Sonora. The sewing cooperative is a part of DouglaPrieta Works, a one-of-a-kind organization working for economic justice in the Arizona borderlands.
DouglaPrieta Works offers practical solutions to reduce dependency on weak job markets, government assistance programs, charity, and border crossing.The sewing cooperative is one of the ways this vision becomes a reality.
Purchasing any products from DouglaPrieta Works contributes to economic development in the borderlands, as well as directly affecting the livelihoods of the seamstresses in the cooperative.
